Ivan the Terrible was Grand Prince of Moscow from 1533 until his death. His long reign saw the conquest of the Khanates of Kazan, Astrakhan and Siberia, transforming Russia into multiethnic and multiconfessional state spanning almost one billion acres. Ivan managed countless changes in the progression of a midievil state to an empire and emerging regional power and became the first ruler to be crowned as Tsar of All Russia.

This picture is an icon in the church, they diamond and encrusted his face. Even though, some of the things we hear about Ivan the Terrible are well... pretty terrible, he had some very good qualities. For example, he was very intelligent, he was brain smart. His father died when Ivan was 3 and his mother died when he was seven. The boyars, Russia's landowning nobles, had to figt with him to get everything done. He went through a lot as a child, which, yes caused him to do insane things but it also made him very tough. He was obsessed with killing and blood and war. He had the quality of having natural ability to do ANYTHING, considering since he started being involved with ruling Moscow at the age of 3. Also, Ivan VI was very hardworking, and had a great memory for a man of his age. Which could be a good or a bad thing.
